This is the combined effort of Tammy Rollings, Tricia Martin and Gordon Martin. We wanted to do something to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina and decided to offer prints of our art and photography to generate donations. We are selling our prints for $20 through PayPal with this link: [link] All but $10 of the sales will go to Corporation For National and Community Service [link] . We did some research and found this organization on the FEMA site. For information click the link above. The $10 will go to us so we may upkeep our efforts. We need to be able to afford postage of the prints, printing of the prints, etc...

The reason this page is called "ForAlex" is because Tammy has a loved one (someone she has known since she was very young and considers family) who text messaged that he was stranded on the roof of a 3 story building surrounded by water. He wrote that all he has is a canoe, a bit of fresh water, and his dying cell phone. Since there isn't a strong enough signal to call anyone all he can do right now is text message people until his battery dies. He is also an artist and lost pretty much everything. So this page is dedicated to Alex but was created to benefit all of the people of New Orleans and the other victims of Katrina.

UPDATE ON ALEX:
ALEX IS DOING AS WELL AS CAN BE EXPECTED. HE IS SAFELY HOME NOW WITH HIS FAMILY.

We have begun organizing a benefit concert here in Norfolk, VA. for the victims as well. We already have a venue and have another meeting with them on Monday to work out the details. Anyone who decides to sponsor us and/or donate art to this cause will be listed on all of our pages for relief as well as on the t-shirts for the benefit concert. Today we will spend the day speaking to all of our local radio stations and tv networks. We will keep everyone updated on our progress.

UPDATE ON CONCERT:
OUR CONCERT RAISED OVER $1200! WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF THE AMAZING BANDS WHO DONATED THEIR TIME AND MUSIC! SONS OF THUNDER, lll X TIL DAWN, CHAOTIC COLLECTIVE, CHARLTON PHANEUF, ZEKE, RYLO, SEED IS, AND SLIDE OF HAND. We thank AL and DeLisa from the Tap House for being so enthusiastic about the concert and working so hard! EVENT UPDATES:
OUR ART AUCTION IS SET TO BE HELD ON SUN. OCT. 16 AT KEEPERS ON 51ST AND COLLEY AVE. HERE IN NORFOLK, VA. THERE WILL BE A $5 DONATION AT THE DOOR AND WORKS OF LOCAL ARTISTS WILL BE AUCTIONED TO BENEFIT THE VICTIMS OF KATRINA. DOORS OPEN AT 6PM.

A SPOKEN WORD OPEN MIC WILL BE HELD AT JAFFEE ARTS CENTER. WE ARE WAITING FOR A DEFINITE DATE. THERE WILL BE A $5 DONATION AT THE DOOR.
