This particular view of virgin mary was adopted by slaves in order for them to worship their goddess in full view of slave owners trying to "beat them into christianity and catholicism"
she is surrounded by tiny shells, starfish and rhinestones...as tribute. She has both rainbow and natural shells to work with.

Ms. Newman was taught how to make them by a very old voodoo artist that did spend most of his days on the trains to and from New Orleans...

We did some research and found this organization on the FEMA site. For information click the link above. The $10 will go to us so we may upkeep our efforts.
